Privacy Policy

Effective 13 September 2026

This policy is a plain-language draft describing how FinEase actually handles data today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be treated as a starting point, not a final compliance document, before any commercial launch.

Who we are

FinEase is operated by ThakurNtech. This policy explains what information FinEase collects when you use the website or the app, why, and what rights you have over it — including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”).

What we collect

FinEase is manual-entry by design — we never connect to your bank, broker, or insurer. What we hold is only what you type in:

To sign you in: your email address, used to send a one-time 6-digit passcode. There is no password.
Optional profile details: name, date of birth, city tier, number of dependents, income band, phone number, occupation, and marital status — every one of these is optional and only used to make the ratios shown to you more relevant.
The financial data you enter: assets, liabilities, insurance policies, goals, budget categories, cashflow entries, and reminders — exactly as you type them.
Household data, if you create or join one: a view-only rollup of total figures, never individual line items or account numbers, is shown to other members.

What we don't collect

No bank or broker credentials, no automatic account aggregation, no location tracking, and no advertising identifiers. FinEase does not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

How we use it

To calculate your net worth and the generic, educational ratios and gap estimates shown on your dashboard; to send your login passcode; and to run the reminders you set up yourself. We do not use your data to build an advertising profile, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

We use Brevo to deliver the OTP email — it receives only the email address and code needed to send that one message, never your financial data. We do not share your information with data brokers, advertisers, or any other third party.

Security

Your session is authenticated with a signed token stored in an HTTP-only cookie; all traffic between your device and FinEase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to the database is restricted to FinEase's own backend service.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act and as a matter of product design, you can at any time, from Settings in the app:

Export everything FinEase holds about you as a single file.
Correct your profile details yourself, without waiting on us.
Delete your account — this permanently erases your data and cannot be undone.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account erases it immediately, except where a record must be kept longer to meet a legal obligation.

Children

FinEase is not directed at, and should not be used by, anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be called out in the app.
